Our Student Support Team (SST) consists of 20 staff members dedicated to the social emotional wellness of our students. This group includes our Paraprofessional Community Field Coordinators (CFC), five clinicians and our Special Education staff. For more information, please reach Latashia Furtado, Director of Student Support.
Connecting with parents, guardians, and families is a critical element of our student support model.
Richelle Villalona is BDEA’s Family Liaison. Ms. Villalona, who is bilingual in English and Spanish, oversees the BDEA Family Council and connects with our families and parents to provide resources, and collaboration with BDEA staff.
The Student Support Team offers ongoing workshops and support groups including a Young Parent Initiative (YPI) for parenting/expectant students, a Young Father’s group, a Gender and Sexualities Alliance and a host of social clubs.
All groups and clubs are open and optional to all BDEA students and they can receive credit for their participation.
