Admissions
The Application Process
We are currently accepting applications!
The admissions process at BDEA begins with completing the online application which is written in English and can be translated into any language using the toggle button at the top of the application page.
We welcome you to contact BDEA’s Admissions Manager at 617-635-6789 or mmoise@bostonpublicschools.org for help with our application process. We can begin to get to know you and will give you the information you need to feel confident moving forward. You will need to enroll in Boston Public Schools (BPS) if you are not already a BPS student. Please visit this BPS Website which explains how to navigate this process with support from one of the city’s four Welcome Centers.
Applications are received on a rolling basis, year-round. After you submit your application, please allow two weeks for processing. Our Admissions Manager will contact you to schedule an interview. Once you complete the interview, you will be assigned to a mandatory three-day orientation session. If there are no seats available for your chosen start time at the time of acceptance, you can choose to be added to the waitlist for the lottery.
Orientation Schedule
BDEA’s orientation is required for our enrollment process. During this three-day session, students learn about BDEA’s culture, different departments, our academic model, postgraduate planning services, academic and behavior expectations, school norms, and our wide array of resources and supports. Students also meet key staff and get to know their cohort of other incoming students. Students complete an academic assessment and engage in assignments and activities to encourage self-reflection and relationship-building.
