School Counseling

BDEA employs five clinicians (one Path Clinical Coordinator, a School Psychologist, and three Social Workers). Students may additionally work with the Behavioral Health Specialist who works out of the Whittier Street Health Center clinic situated within BDEA’s Wheatley Campus. Our clinicians provide 1:1 counseling and therapy to students for whom counseling is required with an IEP, as well as non-IEP students requesting this resource and support. BDEA’s internal database also allows any adult in the school community to flag a student who may need support, ensuring that needs are identified and addressed efficiently and systematically.

“When I went to BDEA, they were focused on my education. They’re there to help you and to push you and to help you reach your goals.”
