Sadiyyah Mahdi was born on Mars, but as she viewed that big blue orb in the night sky, she knew the red planet was only the start of her journey. After many weeks of training in their 20s, Mahdi was finally able to make a jump large enough to break free of the gravitational pull. They floated in space for a bit before tumbling to Earth and landing in pasta. They also decided that she/her or they/them pronouns best fit their definition of herself. They weren’t sure how they survived in space, so she decided to become a scientist and help younger beings make sense of the universe we all inhabit. She also doesn’t think Boston gets that cold after experiencing the vacuum of outer space.
